Are you mostly a children’s entertainer?

In terms of sheer volume I do more kids’ shows than anything else, but that’s just the way the calls seem to come in. I do adult shows as well.

Do you have a live rabbit?

It took some convincing (not to mention a fair amount of begging and pleading), but my wife finally let me get one about a year and a half ago. For some reason she was convinced she’d be the one who ended up having to take care of it. I told her she was over-reacting, but she called it ‘predicting the future’.

Have you ever performed in Las Vegas?

Yes. I did a couple of tricks for a hotel employee while my wife and I were there on vacation.

Can you provide more than just a magic show?

Sure! Magic-themed party favor bags are available at a cost of $3.50 per bag. Each bag is fashioned in the shape of a giant wand and filled with all sorts of fun stuff like stickers, small toys, a Fortune Teller fish and instructions for five magic tricks.

What about performing outside?

I’ll perform just about anywhere – within reason - but I like to tell people ahead of time that doing shows outside can be a real challenge. The lighting is often poor for magic and the wind has a tendency to blow props and silk handkerchiefs all over the place. Walk-around magic is okay, but doing any sort of a stage show outside can be tricky.

Who is your favorite magician?

Oddly enough, my favorite magician isn’t David Copperfield or Lance Burton or even Criss Angel…it’s a gentleman by the name of Duane Laflin. Duane is not only a fantastic entertainer, but also a phenomenal instructor and I owe him a huge debt of gratitude for everything he’s taught me about magic. What if we’ve used you in the past but want to use you again? Will it be the same act?

Not by a long shot. I keep a record of all my shows so you’ll never see the same performance twice. That’s not to say there won’t be any repeated effects, but they’ll be limited to time-tested favorites that play equally well the second time around.

What does your average show include?

My most popular show (The Signature Party Package) includes the following items: A 35-40 minute magic show with live rabbit production; professional sound system (including microphone, if necessary); giveaway items for up to thirty guests; a "Gordo the Magician" tuxedo t-shirt for the guest of honor; and travel within a 20 mile radius of Ann Arbor.

When is payment required?

Unless other arrangements have been made, a 50% down payment is required when a show is first booked and the balance is due the day of the event.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations that are made at least two weeks prior to the scheduled event result in a full refund of the deposit. For short notice cancellations, however, meaning cancellations within two weeks of the event, the deposit becomes non-refundable.
